KRIPA Special School is a new member in KRIPA family. A Special School for the mentally challenged children started functioning at KRIPA from 16th July 2012. Our beloved Chairman Rev. Fr. Jose Alex CMI blessed the school and inauguration was done by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thalian, Vicar, St. Joseph’s Church, Chunangamvely, Aluva, Kerala.
It was because of the continuous requests from the parents of mentally challenged children, KRIPA started a special school. As we are working in the field of rehabilitation of the physically challenged for the past 31 years, we hope that we can make the life of mentally challenged also better with a job and a proper place in the society.
We assess each student and plan programme for their future life in association with their parents, siblings, close relatives, etc. We first form an Individualized Education Plan considering the strengths and weaknesses of each child and simultaneously we educate their parents on how to rear their child.
In the beginning, we have 10 students with us. Now we have 40 students studying here.
